*Summer Disbursement Timeline:

Summer disbursements vary based on the start date of summer courses. Students can expect to receive disbursement, if eligible, within 10 days of the start date of summer courses. Summer financial aid will not be disbursed to your student account until you begin classes. If you attended FRC during spring semester, your summer aid cannot disburse until:

• All grades for all students are posted and,
• The financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) process has been run.
• Summer aid will not be disbursed to your student account until you begin classes. 

Summer Pell eligibility is based on a number of factors specific to you. These include your summer enrollment; use of Pell Grant during the academic year; and your lifetime use of Pell Grant.

If you were full-time during the fall and spring semesters and received your full Pell Grant during those terms, you can still use part of your overall Pell Grant eligibility for summer if you enroll in at least 6 units. You might be limited by your overall Pell Lifetime Eligibility, as students may not receive more than six years of full-time Pell Grant eligibility (600%). Confirm your lifetime usage at the Federal Student Aid site.

Can I receive a Pell grant if I go to school year-round?

Awards for Pell Grant and/or Cal Grant (if awarded) reflect an amount based on 12 units or more. If you are enrolled in less than 12 units, your award amount will be adjusted accordingly. Please refer to the Financial Aid Enrollment Policy for details. If your file is not completed and finalized 7-10 days before the disbursement date, an alternative disbursement date will be assigned. In addition, your grants will not disburse until your classes have started.

*Disbursement of the Cal Grant award is contingent upon the receipt of the funds by the college. 

Note: If you are a continuing student at FRC, financial aid disbursements may be delayed due to the need to process Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for the prior semester.

Important Loan Information

• Loan disbursement dates vary based on when the student accepts the loan, completes entrance counseling, and a master promissory note.
• Loans for first-time borrowers cannot disburse until you have been enrolled for 30 days in your first semester.
• Loans for a single semester are required to disburse in two parts, the second disbursement occurs after the half-way point of the semester.
• Students must be enrolled in 6 or more units to be eligible for loans.
• The disclosure statement you receive from the Department of Education provides two dates. These dates are not when you will receive your loan disbursement.
