Program Reviews

Feather River College Program Review Overview

Program review is an ongoing process of reflection, assessment, and continuous improvement. While programs are encouraged to collect data and engage in collaborative dialogue throughout the year, all academic, administrative, and student services programs are required to complete an annual program review. In addition, every three to four years, each program conducts a comprehensive program review that takes a deeper, more holistic look at effectiveness, outcomes, and resource needs.

All annual and comprehensive program reviews are completed by the respective programs and are archived here.

Importance of Program Review

The importance and value of the program review process cannot be overstated. As described in AP 4021 Program Review, this process provides a structured, evidence-based approach for evaluating the effectiveness of academic, administrative, and student services programs. Program review supports continuous improvement, ensures alignment with Feather River College’s mission, and contributes directly to institutional planning and accreditation.

Program review creates several important opportunities for programs across the College, including:

  • Clarifying mission alignment: Determining how well a program is meeting its mission and supporting the College’s overarching mission and goals.
  • Understanding strengths and challenges: Building a shared picture of a program’s achievements, barriers, and emerging needs.
  • Driving improvement through evidence: Using data, assessment results, and evaluation findings to establish goals and actionable plans for meaningful program enhancement.
  • Supporting integrated planning: Contributing key information to the College’s Strategic Planning processes, including resource requests and long-term planning.
  • Meeting accountability and accreditation requirements: Documenting ongoing evaluation efforts to support institutional effectiveness and accreditation standards.
  • Informing program sustainability: Providing the data needed to guide program additions, modifications, and, when appropriate, decisions related to program viability as outlined in AP 4022 Program Discontinuance.
