
Feather River College Foundation Scholarships
2023-2024 Scholarship Application Information
The application and reference forms for the 2023-2024 scholarship application are below. The deadline to submit is April 7, 2023. If you have any questions please contact the Financial Aid office.

FRC Foundation Scholarships:
Criteria:
- Applicants must have completed at least 20 degree-applicable units at FRC at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement
- Must be enrolled full-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Two letters of reference, one of the two letters MUST be from an FRC faculty member.
Annual Amount:
$500 payable at $250 per semester
Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled full-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Applicants must also be able to demonstrate community and/or school involvement through their personal essay.
Annual Amount:
$500 payable at $250 per semester
Criteria:
- Applicants must be enrolled full time and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Annual Amounts:
$300 payable in the fall semester
Criteria:
- Applicants must show interest and investment in their community
- Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to learn and work hard at their academics
- Students must be enrolled in at least 6 units at FRC
- Students must demonstrate financial need.
Annual Amount:
Up to $1,500 annually
Criteria:
- Applicants must have completed 24 or more degree-applicable units (or the equivalent) at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement
- must be receiving the California College Promise Grant
- Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time (6 or more units) during all semesters in which the award remains active.
Five scholarship awards are available which are funded by The California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment and the generosity of The Bernard Osher Foundation. Priority will be given to applicants with financial need
Annual Amount:
Up to $1450, will be prorated based on enrollment; payable up to $725 per semester
Criteria:
- Applicants must have completed 24 or more degree-applicable units (or the equivalent) at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement
- Must be receiving the California College Promise Grant
- Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time (6 or more units) during all semesters in which the award remains active.
Three scholarship awards are available which are funded by local donors including the Agriculture/Equine Department, Bill Peters, Bob Shoensee, George McNulty, Larry Gonsalves, Max Benton, Pat Buckner, and Phil Johnson.
Priority will be given to applicants with financial need, agriculture majors participating in the equine studies program, those majoring in art, environmental studies/hatchery, or culinary arts, as well as students who have been accepted into the Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
Annual Amount:
Up to $1100; will be prorated based on enrollment
Criteria:
- Applicants must have successfully completed 12 units or more at FRC, must be enrolled full-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement.
- Two letters of reference. One must be from an FRC staff or faculty member and one from a professional reference (e.g. high school teacher, administrator, employer, clergyman, community organizer, etc.)
- Recipients must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA during both semesters in which the award remains active.
Annual Amount:
$500 payable at $250 per semester
Criteria
- Applicant must be enrolled in at least 12 units at FRC and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Applicants must demonstrate interest in participation in local or regional Native American activities and/or projects.
This scholarship is restricted to Native American students (proof provided through the Bureau of Indian Affairs) with priority given to students of Yamani (Mountain) Maidu heritage. If a qualified Yamani Maidu applicant does not apply, the second priority would be given to all other Maidu applicants. Finally, any other qualified Native American applicant will be taken into consideration.

$1000 payable at $500 per semester
