Take a Class at Any California Community College

Sometimes the class you need is not available at Feather River College during the semester when you need it. The California Virtual College Online Education Initiative (CVC-OEI) can help eligible students find fully online classes offered through other California Community Colleges.

CVC-OEI may be a good option if:
  • you need one more class to graduate, but FRC is not offering it this semester;
  • the class you need is already full; or
  • you cannot take an in-person class, and the course is not offered online at FRC.

What It Is

The CVC-OEI allows FRC students to search for and enroll in fully online classes offered by California Community Colleges across the state. You can use the cvc.edu website to search for the online class you need and begin the registration process.

How to Use CVC

  • Go to cvc.edu.
  • Select your Home College: Feather River College.
  • Search for the fully online class you need.
  • Click Add Class and follow the instructions.
  • You may register for up to two online classes per semester.

What Happens After You Register

  • An FRC advisor will receive notification of your enrollment.
  • The advisor will confirm the course fits your program.
  • If approved, Financial Aid will be notified.
  • Your class will appear in your FRC Canvas dashboard.
  • You will take the class like any other FRC online course.
  • The course may count toward enrollment and financial aid, but fees are paid to the host college.
