Allied Health A.S.
Are you wanting to play sports at FRC and then transfer out to get your RN or other 4-year healthcare degree? FRC has you covered with a new A.S. degree in Allied Health that is affordable and sets you up to transfer on to continue your health care journey!
The Allied Health A.S. is designed to provide a broad base of knowledge and skills to support student development along the healthcare career pathway while meeting general education requirements to earn an associate's degree. A common core of courses provides a foundation in broad range of subjects while the specific pathways provide an opportunity to focus on a specific Allied Health career and degree.
Students earning this degree will be prepared to satisfy the pre-requisite course requirements for admission to a variety of California Community Colleges, California State Universities, and private colleges in undergraduate programs such as:
- Registered Nursing (ADN or BSN)
- Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Respiratory Care, Radiologic Technology
- Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Dental Hygiene
NOTE - Students interested in these fields should see their advisor to ensure career goals and program requirements are met!
Take general education courses that are common to all healthcare careers (anatomy, physiology, psychology, etc) – healthcare careers are HEAVY in pre-requisite load, and often takes 1+ years to complete before tackling core coursework.
Transfer to school of choice to focus on healthcare career/education goal (see list below).

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Pursue further education opportunities in Allied Health career pathways.
- Apply knowledge of foundational scientific courses, including identifying and describing the structure and function of human body systems.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication in a culturally competent manner.
- Demonstrate proficient laboratory techniques within a given Allied Health pathway.
