Allied Health A.S.
Are you wanting to play sports at FRC and then transfer out to get your RN or other 4-year healthcare degree? FRC has you covered with a new A.S. degree in Allied Health that is affordable and sets you up to transfer on to continue your health care journey!
The Allied Health A.S. and certificate are designed to provide a broad base of knowledge and skills to support student development along the healthcare career pathway while also meeting general education requirements. A common core of courses provides a foundation in broad range of subjects while the specific pathways provide an opportunity prepare for an Allied Health career goal at another institution. These pathways are:
- Registered Nursing (2-year or 4-year pathway)
- Respiratory Therapy
- Radiologic Technician
- Dental Hygiene
- Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
- Occupational Therapy Assistant
Students earning this degree will be prepared to satisfy the pre-requisite course requirements for admission to a variety of California Community Colleges, California State Universities, and private colleges in undergraduate healthcare programs.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Pursue further education opportunities in Allied Health career pathways.
- Apply knowledge of foundational scientific courses, including identifying and describing the structure and function of human body systems.
- Demonstrate effective written and oral communication in a culturally competent manner.
- Demonstrate proficient laboratory techniques within a given Allied Health pathway.
