Monica Potter comes from the San Joaquin Delta area where she worked as a college counselor (DSPS, EOPS, and Veterans), disability specialist through vocational rehabilitation and assessment in learning disabilities in conditional release programs.  She has counseled a diverse range of adults of all abilities and backgrounds.  She is an active member of the Red Cross Disaster Mental Health team addressing the effects of disasters and pathways to healing.  As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor she takes a humanistic approach to mental health, which explores the student’s individual, interpersonal, and cultural strengths to increase insight into challenges that they may face.  She has experience working with a wide range of concerns related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, complex trauma, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum diagnosis, eating disorders and life transitions. She believes in the resilience of all her students and aims to work collaboratively with then to identify and access their own strengths as they reach their academic and personal goals.
