Can I earn an Associate Teacher Certification of Specialization – Associate Teacher in one year?

You can take all online classes to do this or a mixture of both online and in person classes. This allows you to be eligible for hire, though you will still need to complete the fieldwork hours required by the state. I can help you navigate the best schedule for you.

Can I work at the campus preschool and still go to school?

Yes, in fact we hope you do! The Child Development Center is always looking for Work Study Students. Hours and schedules are flexible and can receive credit (hours/units) while working. Early Childhood Education majors receive preference for work-study slots.

To apply, go to Admissions and Records and fill out an application, and sent to the Director of the Child Development Center. I strongly urge you to come by the school and introduce yourself as well. 530-283-0521.

What is Cooperative Work Experience, ECE120 CWEE?

CWEE is a fieldwork class that is anywhere from 1-4 units. You can take CWEE while being paid to work or a volunteer in school. CWEE gives you the greatest flexibility in your learning focus by setting your own goals, allows you to gain hours for the Associate Teacher Certificate, and is a wonderful tool to hone skills in teaching.

Elementary Teacher Prep Students and those considering teaching High School are eligible to take CWEE and placed in a classroom of their choice.
