TREX training happening on campus March 24-26

Feather River College, in conjunction with local partners and agencies, will be hosting a prescribed fire training (TREX) weekend on March 24-26.

This will not be a live fire prescribed underburn; rather TREX is a training exchange that aims to educate the public as well as working professionals in prescribed fire. TREX is an international program and has been successful in organizing and educating communities on the importance, strategies, tactics, and safety concerns surrounding the use of prescribed fire. This the third time FRC has hosted a TREX event.

The event is capped at 65 participants. Most of the participants are local or regional, but because of the success of the last several events hosted here at FRC, we will have folks from three different states and three international attendees. If you have any questions, concerns, OR you would like to attend, please contact Jon Dvorak at jdvorak@frc.edu Ext. 362.
