Special Edition of Cambium: Rising Scholars and Stories of Resilience

Each year, Phi Theta Kappa chapters engage in an Honors in Action project, which encourages community college students to combine scholarship, research, service, collaboration, and creativity to build projects that resonate with both campus and community. The theme for the year's Honors in Action project is “The Power of Stories”, with a focus on “Stories of Persistence, Resilience, Healing, and Sorrow”.

Our local PTK chapter decided to work with our Incarcerated Student Population, specifically our Rising Scholars (PTK members), to create a special edition of Cambium to highlight their stories of persistence, resilience, healing, and sorrow. Below you'll find this special edition.

Submissions for the Spring 2026 edition will be accepted November 1, 2025 through February 28, 2026

Cambium at Feather River College nourishes intellectual and creative communities on our campus while allowing students to apply what they’ve learned. The journal also serves as a bridge with local communities, creating connections between the campus community and regional writers, artists, and other community members. Cambium is an opportunity for aspiring and established artists and writers in the community to share their art and writing.

The journal highlights the work of Feather River College students and staff as well as members of the larger Plumas County community. The journalis published annually the spring semester.

The English Department wishes to thank the Feather River College Foundation and our administration for funding for their support of Cambium.
