Year: Sophomore

How many times taking a horse through the FRC Sale? First 

Sam Nelson is from Colfax, California. She came to FRC in the summer of 2024 and will graduate in the spring of 2028 with her bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management. Sam values every aspect of her education here at FRC, from her participation in equine reproduction to colt starting and the training she has received as the student employee vet technician for the FRC program. After she graduates, she hopes to continue working with young horses, not only caring for weanlings and yearlings but also expanding her colt-starting experience. Her favorite memory at FRC was the five-week summer ranch skills course that she took her first summer here, when she developed better roping and equitation skills while also receiving impactful mentorship from FRC's wonderful equine instructors.
