FRC Driftin Cat
"Drifter"
Horse Description
2023 Palomino AQHA 15hh Gelding
FRC Drifting Cat, affectionately known as “Drifter,” is a three-year-old palomino AQHA gelding standing at 15hh. Drifter has a fun, affectionate personality and enjoys attention, while remaining respectful and responsive to his handler. He is willing to work, learns quickly, and shows strong determination when introduced to new tasks. Drifter demonstrates natural athletic ability, is naturally slower in his gaits though he can open up and extend when asked. Additionally, he has the drive needed for performance events — he may be best suited with a confident rider to be his partner for the next stages in his training career. Sired by Django Cat and out of FRC My Sweet Delilah, his pedigree traces back to High Brow Cat and Doc O’Lena, two influential cutting horse sires known for producing cow-sense and athletic performance horses. With his build, willingness, and work ethic, Drifter shows potential for ranch versatility, team roping, breakaway, cutting, steer wrestling, and general ranch work.

Paige Camacho is from Madera, California. She became a student at Feather River College in the summer of 2024 where she participated in the five-week-long summer ranch skills course. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management, and plans to graduate in the spring of 2027. Paige chose FRC for its strong hands-on equine program and the opportunity to work directly with horses. She is especially interested in colt starting and training, as well as equine breeding and reproduction. Paige’s best memory at FRC was starting her first assigned colt and watching its progress and growth over the course of the semester.
