The Career/Transfer Center offers a variety of materials, information, and assistance to students to help them make informed educational and employment choices.  One section of the Center is also dedicated to offering students employment opportunities while enrolled in college courses.

Career Services

Staff is available to assist students with interest, ability and value inventories to determine their best career options and, therefore, their appropriate major. Career information and materials include:

  • Vocational interest and aptitude assessment instruments
  • DISCOVER career and educational options program
  • Career and Job Search videos

Transfer Services

Staff is available to assist students in the exploration of schools to meet their major and interest criteria.  The Center provides a variety of information and sponsors various activities and workshops to assist students with the transfer process.  Information, activities, and assistance include:

  • Internet based scholarship search

  • A library of college catalogs

  • Dual Admissions Programs (DAP)
  • Transfer Admissions Agreements (TAA)
  • Transfer Admissions Guarantees
  • On-Site Admissions for CSU Chico, Humboldt State, and University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Transfer Workshops such as Completing the Transfer Application, Writing Your Personal Statement, and Transferring Your Financial Aid.
  • General information on general education requirements and articulation agreements
  • Scheduling four-year college campus visitations

Employment Information

Employment information is available to students to assist them in finding full-time or temporary work on campus and in the community.  Services includes:

  • Assistance in job search preparation - resume writing, interview skills, successful job search strategies
  • Assistance in finding part-time or temporary work on campus and in the community through the Student Employment Program.
  • Assistance in finding summer jobs and post-graduate employment
  • Promoting attendance at County Job Fairs
