9-10-12 Hayward, CA – The Feather River College women’s soccer team continues to prove that they are an improved team over last year’s squad. In the season opener FRC women tied Sierra College 2-2 who whooped them 7-0 last season. This past weekend the women took on Chabot College.

Last Season Chabot beat FRC women by a score of 3-0, this year the final result was a 1-1 draw. Chabot scored first in the 21st minute off of a rocketed volley past FRC keeper Korey Cline. Cline and her backs settled in after that and held the Gladiator women to no more goals.

In the final 15 minutes, realizing that they had to push hard to get at least a tying goal, FRC coach Don Williams pushed players up, so that the lady Eagles had 4 forwards and only 3 backs, the result was an immediate forward impetus that resulted in FRC being awarded a penalty kick. Grace Pedroza took the kick and converted it for the draw.

“Like my men did this weekend again Las Positas, my women showed a ton of heart not giving up from being down in the game, coming back to get a draw on the road is never easy”, said Feather River head coach Don Williams.
