Jesse Segura has been involved in rodeo his whole life. His rodeo abilities led him to the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Men’s All-Around championship in 2003. His knowledge of the sport allowed him to hold the office of National student president of the NIRA the same year. Other rodeo accomplishments led him to the California circuit finals for the last six years competing in the events of Saddle Bronc riding and Bulldogging. Jesse’s academic & intercollegiate rodeo background started at Lassen Community College, he then transferred to West Hills Community College, and then went on to California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, Ca. where he acquired a bachelors in Earth Science with a minor in Political Science. He then went on to get his Masters from Cal Poly in Environmental Policy.

Suzanne Montero Suzanne Montero has been involved in the world of agriculture, and rodeo her entire life. She has been involved in the equine and livestock industry for many years competing in events that range from rodeo, to showing horses, and livestock. Because of her achievements at the state and national levels as a youth, Suzanne received a full ride athletic scholarship to rodeo for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During her four years of college rodeo she won several regional intercollegiate awards. Suzanne went on to win the national intercollegiate women’s all-around title twice in 2001 and 2003. Presently she is finishing her Bachelor of Science degree in Integrative and Organismal Biology. |

Billy Bugenig
Assistant Rodeo Coach/ Associate Faculty
Coach Billy Bugenig is from Ferndale, Ca. His family owns and operates a rodeo contracting business, supplying livestock and producing rodeos. Coach Bugenig graduated from Cal Poly SLO in 2002 with a BS degree in Ag-Business. He is a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Coach Bugenig competes throughout the country and helps his family business during the off season. He is currently ranked in the top 30 in the World Standings in Steer wrestling. Coach Bugenig will also be teaching agriculture classes in the new Ag program that has been added to the curriculum at FRC.
Scott Spero
Assistant Rodeo Coach/Associate Faculty
Coach Scott Spero is from Winnemucca, Nevada. He grew up around ranching, and went on to graduate from the University of Wyoming in 2003 with a degree in Agroecology . He is a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He competes in bareback riding in the PRCA. Coach Spero also teaches classes in the new Ag program at
FRC. This will be his second year teaching at the college.
