After a victory against Yuba College on November 17th, the Lady Eagles enjoyed their Thanksgiving holiday with pre-season record of 3-2. However, those comforting feelings were cut short by a loss to Skyline College, in south San Francisco, that following Tuesday. A 59-76 loss seemed to set the precedent for their return to the bay area later that week as the Lady Eagles fell to Glendale College in the Hartnell Classic Tournament opener in Salinas, Ca. on Friday 51-54. Reno's Jessie Felker (soph.) and Rashonda McAlister (fresh.) finished the game with 16pts and 12pts respectively. Battle wounds still fresh from the previous night, the Lady Eagles rallied together and fought valiantly for a win, but were unsuccessful as they lost to Monterey Penninsula College in overtime 81-87. Rashonda McAlister, proving herself to be a 'go-to' freshman for the Lady Eagles, nailed a three pointer with 5 seconds left on the clock which sent FRC to their first overtime of the season. Caroline Andre, on loan to the US from Sweden, finished the game with 17 pts, 12pts of which were beyond the 3pt line. Chester's own Kaena Keefer added 10pts of her own. Kaneisha Jones put her third 'double-double' this year on the books with 20pts and 11 rebounds.  The Golden Eagles will be looking to even up their pre-season record, currently 3-5, as they host Los Medanos College on December 15th. Tip off is at 3pm. We hope to see you all there!
