Lady Eagles
stomp Lassen
By Shannon Morrow, Sports
Editor
Feather Publishing
March 26, 2003
A year ago, the softball teams of Feather River College
and Lassen College were pretty evenly matched. Both programs were
struggling, but FRC had a new head coach that was eager to improve her
team.
A year later the improvement is obvious, as Feather
Riiver devastated Lassen, 12-1 and 20-1 in a doubleheader at home March
19.
All the hits against Lassen were just what the Golden
Eagles needed.
"The games we've lost have been due to a lack of
offense," said Harris. "We've been really working on hitting. Lassen was
a great step."
The wins against Lassen improved the Eagles' conference
record to 4-4, keeping them competitive in league standings. "We have
the opportunity to kick start it right now," said Harris. "We have the
capabilities.”
Feather River will travel to Redding on Friday, March 28,
for a doubleheader against Shasta, and then the Golden Eagles play at
home this Saturday, March 29, against College of the Redwoods. The first
game begins at noon.
