Former Feather River College Golden Eagle basketball player and Golden Valley Conference MVP Larry Brackins was drafted as a wide receiver by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers straight out of community college and later was instrumental in leading the Philadelphia Soul to the championship of the Area Bowl. The Dothan, Alabama native game high was 36 points, 18 rebounds, 7 block shots and 5 assists versus Shasta College at the Santa Rosa Tournament in 2002. Brackins later was named the National Juco Player of the Year leading Pearl River College to a National championship.
