Bobby Ratterree

Coach Bobby Ratterree grew up in Falcon Colorado.  After graduating from Falcon High School he went on to play Junior Varsity Basketball his freshman and sophomore years at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa (NAIA).  For his junior year of college he transferred to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley Colorado where he had the unique opportunity to be a practice player playing against the UNC Women’s Basketball Team.  In this valuable experience Coach Ratterree got to see how intercollegiate basketball programs work from the inside out through recruiting, player development, practice planning, and scouting & preparation for opponents. 

Coach Ratterree’s coaching career started his senior year of college when he got the opportunity to be an assistant coach and head C-Team coach at Platte Valley High School in Kersey, Colorado.  After graduating with an undergrad in Sport and Exercise Science with minors in Nutrition and Coaching, Coach Ratterree began a master’s program through UNC in Sport Administration.  While finishing his master’s and working as an Exercise Physiology Tech in physical therapy coach Ratterree coached two seasons at ECA High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado as an assistant coach and the head JV coach. 

After earning his master’s and becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, coach Ratterree is entering his first year coaching at the collegiate level.  Coach Ratterree is extremely excited to be a part of the tradition of Feather River College Men’s Basketball.

Coach Ratterree comes from an athletic family, his father Greg Ratterree played college football, his mother Lisa Ratterree is an avid runner and successful high-school cross country and track coach, and his sister Caroline played Division I College Volleyball and is currently in her 5th year running cross country and track at Radford University in Virginia.  Coach Ratterree is engaged to former UNC Women’s Basketball player Lara Merritt of Cheyenne, Wyoming
