Division I football is a dream for most kids. However, for most High School Football players, getting to a D-I or even a D-II school can seem impossible.  Sometimes its grades, sometimes its lack of exposure, sometimes its money issues.  Whatever the issue is, you need to know there is more than one way to a big time program and a scholarship.

You can come and play for us at Feather River College, fix whatever barriers were preventing you from going to a four year school.  You get to showcase your talents at a competitive college program, and you get the assistance of a staff dedicated to getting you out to the next level.  Last year, every eligible player from our program went on to a four year school. 

You will likely be contacted by several programs, and have many choices to consider. We honestly want you to make the best of the choices available to you, which may be at a Division I or II school.  However sometimes it is not.  We have seen through experience that absent a full scholarship, you could very well end up spending more money for a partial scholarship, all while you have to wait your turn down the depth chart behind the recruits from the last two years. We don’t treat our players like that.

We make the following promises to our players.

1. You will get to compete for a starting position right away.  We put the best 11 on the field each week.  That means that we don’t give out starting spots, our players earn them.  Other programs may ask you to red-shirt because they have to keep their promise to “last year’s recruit”. We don’t do that.
2. You will have the best assistance possible to continue on to a big time football program.  We are very proud of our tradition of helping our players get to the best four year institution possible.  74% of the athletes that obtain scholarships after leaving Feather River College play at the Division I or Division II levels.
3. You will have the full support of the staff both on and off of the field.  We believe in developing quality individuals in addition to quality players.  We assist our athletes with all of their needs, and help them to grow into independent, responsible adults.
4. We recognize and value academics.  Remember, you can’t be a great student athlete without being a great student.  We provide a quality education as well as a competitive football program.
