Feather River College (2012):  Grant appeared in 25 games, with 9 of those appearances on the mound. He had a 1.80 era in 20 innings pitched and he hit .188.

High School:  Grant was a 3 sport letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball. He was a QB in football, guard in basketball. In baseball Grant played 2nd and shortstop, as well as pitcher. He earned 1st team All-league honors at 2nd base during his junior and senior seasons.

Personal:  Grant enjoys eating ice cream, playing video games, fly fishing, relaxing on the couch, and golfing....his favorite athlete is Dustin Pedroia and his favorite team is the Boston Red Sox.....Grant is the son of Barry and Lisa Mattes......He has two older siblings....his favorite former FRC athlete is Kyle Wise......
