The NEST

The baseball field at Feather River College is considered one of the premier facilities in Northern California. The facility is located at the southeast corner of FRC’s campus. Nicknamed "The Nest," it is home field for the Golden Eagles. The Claremont mountain range provides a natural backdrop for The Nest, surrounded by oak and pine trees.

   Feather River College began work on this amazing facility during the summer of 1997. The baseball diamond is a converted softball field. Sprinkler systems, professional drainage and fencing were installed. Sixty-foot dugouts, a thirty-foot backstop, batting cages, an infield consisting of Candlestick mix and Kentucky blue grass were also completed. A snack bar and restrooms are conveniently located next to the visitor dugout.

Recent field improvements include:

• professional lighting system for night games and practices
• 28 foot Nine Inning Professional LED Scoreboard
• fan picnic area along the first baseline
• Two 70' Astroturfed Batting Cages with an Iron Mike Pitching Machine
• New Bleachers with Individual Chairbacks
• Clubhouse/Coaches Offices with 43 6' X 3' individual lockers, video analysis system, vision training lab, XM Satellite Radio, 32 inch Satellitte TV, sony playstation.
