The Golden Eagles return seven position starters and two starting pitchers from last year along with a good group of incoming freshman and transfers. Assistant Head Coach Jason Gay said, "We have the makings of a really good club this season, because we return so many players from last years team.  They got a chance to have success so that has really pushed them this off season to work hard so that we can try to get back to the super regional." Gay also added, "We also really like the improvement our guys have made since the fall and we are really excited about the tough pre-season schedule that we will play once again.  Our pre-season schedule benefits us for the tough GVC competition.  Every weekend in our conference is a grind and our players will be ready for that thanks to our pre-season schedule."
