2017 - 2018 Scholarship Application

FOR NEW & CONTINUING FRC STUDENTS

SCHOLARSHIP NAME CRITERIA ANNUAL AMOUNT

Applicants must be enrolled full-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must also be able to demonstrate community and/or school involvement through their personal essay. $500 payable at
$250 per semester
Faculty Union Applicants must be enrolled full-time and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. $300 payable in
the fall semester
Feather River College Foundation Scholarship Applicants must show interest and investment in their community. Applicants must demonstrate a willingness to learn and work hard at their academics. Students must be enrolled in at least 6 units at FRC. Students must demonstrate financial need. Up to $1,000

Schoensee Family Applicants must be enrolled full-time $500 payable at

Schramel Family

Applicants must be enrolled full-time and have a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher (high school and/or college). Priority is given to Indian Valley residents.

For Continuing FRC Students & Students Transferring to FRC

Academic Senate Applicants must have completed at least 20 degree applicable units at FRC at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement, must be enrolled full-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. One of the two letters of reference MUST be from an FRC faculty member. $500 payable at 
$250 per semester
Agriculture/Equine Scholarship Must meet Osher Scholarship Criteria
(see belowand priority will be given to Agriculture students participating in the Equine Studies courses.  
Up to $800; will be pro-rated based on enrollment
Bill Peters Legacy Scholarship Must meet Osher Scholarship Criteria
(see below) and must have a declared major in Agriculture, Art, or Environmental Studies.
Up to $500; will be pro-rated based on enrollment
Bob Schoensee Leadership Scholarship Must meet Osher Scholarship Criteria
(see below) and must demonstrate leadership qualities.
Up to $300; will be pro-rated based on enrollment

George T. McNulty Legacy Scholarship

Applicants must have completed 24 or more degree applicable units (or the equivalent) at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement, and must be receiving the BOG fee waiver. Priority will be given to applicants with financial need. Recipients must be enrolled at least ½ time (6 or more units) during all semesters in which the award remains active.

Recipients may receive a maximum cumulative award of $3000 of Osher and/or College Scholarships at FRC.

Up to $575; will be
pro-rated based on enrollment

Larry Gonsalves 
Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must have completed 24 or more degree applicable units (or the equivalent) at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement, and must be receiving the BOG fee waiver. Priority will be given to applicants with financial need. Recipients must be enrolled at least ½ time (6 or more units) during all semesters in which the award remains active.

Recipients may receive a maximum cumulative award of $3000 of Osher and/or College Scholarships at FRC.

Up to $375; will be pro-rated based on enrollment

Max Benton Memorial Scholarship

Must meet Osher Scholarship Criteria
(see below) and must have a declared major in Culinary Arts.

Up to $300; will be 
pro-rated based on enrollment

Pat Buckner Legacy Scholarship

Must meet Osher Scholarship Criteria
(see below) and must be accepted into the Vocational Nursing program.

Up to $500; will be
pro-rated based on enrollment

Phil Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Must meet Osher Scholarship Criteria
(see below) and priority will be given to environmental studies students participating in the hatchery and fisheries courses.  

Up to $600; will be
pro-rated based on enrollment

Osher Scholarship

Osher Scholarship Criteria:
Applicants must have completed 24 or more degree applicable units (or the equivalent) at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement, and must be receiving the BOG waiver. Priority will be given to applicants with financial need. Recipients must be enrolled at least ½ time (6 or more units) during all semesters in which the award remains active.

Recipients may receive a maximum cumulative award of $3000 of Osher and/or College Scholarships at FRC.

Up to $1,100; will be
pro-rated based on enrollment; payable up to $550 per semester
Rose Cortez Memorial

Applicants must have successfully completed 12 units or more at FRC, must be enrolled full-time and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at the time of the initial scholarship disbursement.  One letter of reference must be from an FRC staff or faculty member and one from a professional reference (e.g. high school teacher, administrator, employer, clergyman, community organizer, etc.)

Recipients must be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 GPA during both semesters in which the award remains active.
