WENDY SELVAGGIO, EAST COUNTY EDUCATIONAL ADVISOR
Who I am
My name is Wendy Selvaggio and I am the ETS advisor for the Portola local schools and Loyalton High School. My history of birth, grade school, and high school all originated in Portola many moons ago, and took me to a University in Southern California. During this time, I met and married Frank, and we chose to begin our family. Over the years we welcomed our 13 yr. old Sasha, 11 yr. old Piero, 8 yr. old Brook, and 6 yr. old Sophia. This past year while still living in Southern California we make the decision to move back to Plumas County to finish raising our children, enjoy the mountains, and become a supportive part of a smaller community. In this transition, ETS has become an outlet for our family to encourage and support local area students.
Why
ETS is important to me
ETS has become significant to our local schools and parents because of the positive feedback I hear regularly from parents, teachers, and students. Grades are going up, as well as self esteem in many of our participants, grades 6th-12th. I enjoy the smiles, laughter, and dreaming I see daily by being a part of the ETS program that reaches hundreds of students.
