Exemptions from Matriculation Processes

 

Students have the right to waive participation in the following matriculation processes if they meet the exemption criteria for the process.

Orientation:

  • Have completed an AA/AS degree or higher degree
  • Have completed a previous college orientation
  • Enrolling in activity or contract instruction courses.

Assessment:

  • Have completed an AA/AS degree or higher degree
  • Provide test scores that comply with college adopted equivalencies
  • Enrolling only in courses that have no skill level prerequisite
  • Have completed course work at another college equivalent to Math 016 (Elementary Algebra) and or English 101 (college level reading and composition) with a grade of "C” or better
  • Taking contract instruction courses

 

Advising/Counseling:

  • Have completed an AA/AS degree or higher degree
  • Enrolling in less than six units with no English or math courses
  • Not pursing a degree or certificate
  • Enrolling in activity courses only

 

Students who are planning to pursue exemption status for any or all of the above mentioned Matriculation components must:

  • Have a signed waiver on file in the Admissions and Records Office.
  • Update their status each semester on the Admissions Application.
