Merle Trueblood was first hired in 1998 and is the Director of Athletics Operations and Events. Prior to coming to FRC he worked in the private industry where he owned and operated two companies and hired several hundred employees. In 1997 Merle was hired as the Lake Almanor Recreation Department Director where he worked directly with FRC to offer and teach classes in the Lake Almanor basin area. Merle played intercollegiate baseball at Butte Community College where he received his AA degree in Business and transferred to Chico State University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Excelsior College. Merle is currently completing his MS in Education Administration at California Coast University in Santa Ana, CA. Merle is active at the state level serving on the State Title IX Committee, is the Mid-Empire Football Conference President, an NCFA Executive Committee representative, and the Golden Valley Conference men's and women's soccer and softball AD representative. During his tenure at Feather River College, he has seen the addition of eight new intercollegiate sports and considers it one of his greatest accomplishments. Merle is very active and invovlved in the community and participates in several events throughout the year.
