"Learning Through Experience"

The Outdoor Recreation Leadership Program at Feather River College prepares students for competitive careers in outdoor leadership and for seamless transfer to four-year institutions. The curriculum in the Outdoor Recreation Leadership program provides a theoretical foundation and a variety of practical experiences.

The Outdoor Recreation Leadership Program emphasizes leadership, teaching techniques, safety, rescue, and technical skills.

The primary focus of our outdoor programming lies in the areas of backpacking, whitewater rafting and kayaking, rock climbing and mountaineering, and backcountry skiing and avalanche awareness.

The Feather River Outings Group (F.R.O.G.) is an integrated outings program that acts as a laboratory for students to practice their outdoor leadership skills and learn in an experiential environment. Students plan and lead adventures for Feather River College students and community group. If you want to lead in the outdoors, this is the place.
