What is F.R.O.G.?
F.R.O.G. (The Feather River Outings Group) is a way for any student at FRC to enjoy outdoor adventures. Student leaders not only plan and lead adventures for other FRC students but also for community groups.
How do I participate in an an activity or go on a trip?
Simply come down to Associated Students office in the campus center or visit us at any one of our events. We will be able to sign you up for the trip of your choice at a very low cost. Take a look at our events schedule to see what types of trips are available during the semester. There is no need to enroll in any class; you just have be a student at FRC or a member at Feather River Fitness and Recreation.
How do I become a FROG Leader?
You have the opportunity to show others what Plumas County has to offer while teaching them a new outdoor activity. No experience is necessary to join FROG. Just enroll in College Outings Leadership ORL 132 AD and we will teach you the skills necessary to lead in the outdoors. Class topics include activity skills such as:
- Rock Climbing
- Backcountry Skiing
- Kayak rolling
- Telemark skiing
- Sea Kayaking
- Rafting and much more
And leadership skills such as:
- Communication skills
- Teaching skills
- Leave No Trace Ethics
- Decision Making
- Group Management
- Conflict Resolution
- Trip Planning and much more.
Why become a FROG leader?
- Access to equipment to help you learn outdoor skills associated with ORL 132 AD
- Ability to create and lead your own trips through FROG
- Ability to apply for FROG Scholarship (More information available)
- Learn leadership and group management skills applicable to all career pursuits
- Have FUN with a some great people in beautiful Plumas county

Benefits to the Campus Community
FROG operates under the auspices of the Associated Student Body and Student Services at FRC. This enables FROG to offer a variety of student activities at a low cost. This also gives FROG the opportunity to offer many community events such as our annual outdoor pursuits gear swap.

To provide the Feather River College community with a variety of outdoor adventures and activities that provide a fun experience for participants, and a unique experiential learning environment for aspiring outdoor leaders.
*FROG operates on Federal Lands through a special use permit provided by the Plumas and Lassen Ranger Districts of the U.S. Forest Service
