Employment Requirements

The following qualifications apply to Title XXII regulations and are required for non-State funded childcare centers and preschools. . Director . 12 units early childhood education, including child growth and development, child, family and community and programs/curriculum. 3 units child care administration or parent/staff relations Experience (one of the following): Four years experience and a High school diploma or GED 2 years experience and an AA degree 1 year experience and a BA degree. . Recommended course of study: . ECE 162 Child Growth and Development 3 ECE 153 Child, Family, Community 3 ECE 154 Creative Activities for Children 3 ECE 057 Intro to ECE Programs/Field Experience I 3 ECE 051 Administration of Programs for Young Children 3  OR ECE 055 Supervision: Parent/Staff Relations 3 ECE 080 Adult/Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid .5 ECE 082 Child Health and Safety .5 . Teacher . 12 units early childhood education, including child growth and development, child, family and community and programs/curriculum. Experience: 50 days in a 6-month period, paid or volunteer, under the supervision of a qualified teacher or director. . Recommended course of study: . ECE 162 Child Growth and Development 3 ECE 153 Child, Family, Community 3 ECE 154 Creative Activities for Children 3 ECE 057 Intro to ECE Programs/Field Experience I 3 ECE 080 Adult/Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid .5 . Teacher’s Aide . 18 years of age or a high school graduate or enrolled in an occupational program. .
